B played the usual game of Tetris packing our car tight, although he really missed having the help of our friend Dan who has helped pack our little Tempo on many a move.

We said goodbye to the clean and lush surroundings of Fort Mac.

And farewell to some of the largest trucks in the world, constantly on the road. This one looked like it was moving a small city.

Poor Lulu had a rough time in the car as usual. This time she spit up daisy petals. I guess she had eaten my anniversary flowers out of the trash right before we left.

8 hours later we stopped in Calgary. We stayed with B's family for a day and a half.

We had our usual sister manicure party.

Then we got back on the road Saturday morning. B's dad and Brother came along too.

I was so happy that we made it through the border with ease. My jaw had been killing me (my TMJ was flaring up) due to the stress of moving and my fear of the border. I'm always afraid of the border guards, but the American ones are usually nice, and they were this time too.

Finally home. It was so nice to know I was back in America after 8 long months. I had never been out of the country for so long before.

The drive on the I-15 is super long, but the views are breath taking, a camera can't really capture how beautiful it is.

Speaking of the I-15, B somehow got confused and got on the I-90 after a stop for gas. And we had stopped following his dad at that point. So, that added on about an extra hour of time on the road. But, I was just so happy to make it back to Rexburg safely that it didn't matter in the end. It's great to be back in Rexburg. I felt so nostalgic when we drove into town. I have so so so many memories in this little town (I've been here on and off for the last 5 years) and I can't believe that this will be our final two semesters here.
Your hair looks sooo pretty in that very first picture, nice watermelon nails & I wondered how Lulu did with the drive (poor thing spit up daisy petals?? It's not really funny but you crack me up...you are a really good writer.) I love all your pictures & your writing of events. Gorgious scenery, I think Ft Mac has the cleanest roads I've ever seen!! Glad you made it home safely!!! I miss you! XOXO
ReplyDeleteyou two are the cutest!! lulu is so cute and funny smashed in that tiny little crevase. it's so sad (and a little funny/random) that she threw up daisy petals! poor thing, she was probably having so much anxiety. i'm glad you got through safe!! welcome back!!
